Classic Baggie bemoans lack of security, organisation for shows

The entertainment industry in Nigeria is widely believed to have experienced a lot of progress over the years with Nigerian creatives amassing global acclaim through awards, selling out international concerts, among others.

In spite of these, there are voices which remain critical that not all aspects of the industry are experiencing desirable growth, especially when it comes to hosting and planning of entertainment events.

One such voice is the chief executive of Baggie Group, Ehonre Oluwaseun, popularly known as Classic Baggie who believes that the previous year was one of the worst for event organisers in the country.

The business tycoon lamented on his Instagram page the poor state of security and organisation at event centres.

“There were records of disturbing occurrences that took place at some of the events last year. People were robbed inside indoor spaces not to mention open space during shows.

“How do the event organisers and the hall owners come together to not only ensure proper security and checks before every event? How do we properly arrange a concert for the concert-goers, that will lead them to being satisfied by the entertainment from these events, let them feel that the money they have used in purchasing these tickets are not waste but a great value?” Classic Baggie quizzed.

The entrepreneur who is believed to be one of the youngest and fast rising in Africa also charged space owners to invest in bigger event centres which would supplement efforts of other stakeholders in the entertainment industry.

“All the artistes, actors and other creative talents are putting us on the map, it’s time we had more and bigger venues to accommodate more people to enjoy entertaining performances and give room to international acts to include our country in their tours.
