A civil servant, Sodiq Lawal, 25, accused of damaging the windshield of a police patrol vehicle on Monday appeared in an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court.
The police charged Lawal, who resides at No. 21, Oshin St, Alausa, Ikeja, with two counts of damage and breach of peace to which he pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecution Counsel, Sgt. Ishola Samuel told the court that Lawal and others still at large committed the offence on March 5, at Oshin St., Alausa, Ikeja.

He said the defendant threw stones and broke the windshield of the police patrol van valued at N80,000, a property of the Federal Government.
Samuel alleged that the defendant also conducted himself in a manner likely to cause a breach of peace by throwing stones
The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of sections 168 and 350 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Magistrate A. I. Abina admitted Lawal to bail in the sum of N50, 000 with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case until April 16 for a mention.
