Christmas cash grant: Ogun govt urges residents to be wary of scammers

The Ogun State Government has warned residents to beware of scammers claiming there is an ongoing Christmas Cash Grant from Governor Dapo Abiodun.

The government clarified that such messages did not originate from the governor or any official source.

This was stated in a press release signed by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Strategy, Hon. Kayode Akinmade, a copy of which was made available to journalists in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, on Saturday.

The statement explained that the message circulating on social media platforms is a ploy by fraudsters to swindle unsuspecting members of the public, urging residents to disregard it entirely.

“We hereby warn residents of the state to disregard such message as antics of unscrupulous elements who are always out during festive periods like this to defraud innocent citizens of their hard earned resources”, the statement read.
