Christ is the only solution to Nigerians’ plight —Methodist Prelate

Published by

THE prelate of the Methodist Church Nigeria, Most Reverend (Dr) Oliver Aba, has advised Nigerians not to look elsewhere for solutions to the current challenges of the country but to cleave unto Jesus Christ for a lasting breakthrough.

Aba stated this during his sermon at the investiture of the knighthood ceremony for Brig. General (retd) Oluwole Rotimi and music legend, Evangelist Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi, at the Freeman Methodist Church cathedral, Ogbe, Abeokuta, Ogun State, adding that, “the only person that can solve and go with you in this kind of trying times is Christ and he is ready to wipe away our tears and do the unimaginable things that are beyond human comprehension.

Referring to the story of Lazarus, Aba, noted that all hope was lost, yet Jesus Christ was beckoned on and he eventually restored all lot of hope by raising Lazarus from the dead four days after. He charged Nigerians not to lose hope despite the hardship in the land, but to put their hope in Christ and be righteous.

The high point of the event was when the prelate led other ministers of God to present the Knight of John Wesley Award to Brig. General (retd) Oluwole Rotimi, and Knight of Charles Wesley award to Ebenezer Obey.

After conducting the investiture, Prelate Aba acknowledged that the church was delighted to honour the two personalities for their contributions and roles as exemplary figures within both the church and the broader community.

In his remarks, the music icon said: “I am a proud Methodist from birth, and I deeply appreciate the honour and recognition. I believe the award will further inspire me to continue advancing my evangelistic efforts. I also sincerely appreciate the leadership of the church and the entire members for this great honour.”
