Speaking with journalists during on the spot assessment to health facilities in Ilorin on Friday, the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Isiaka Gold, who led the government’s delegation to assess the outbreak said the government had deployed resources to ensure that cholera did not spread in the state.
The Secretary to the State Government said the government had begun sensitisation of the public on the need for personal hygiene and environmental sanitation, saying that the government had supported hospitals with necessary drugs to handle the case promptly.
Also speaking, the State Commissioner for Health, Alhaji Atolagbe Alege, said the Ministry had deployed both human and material resources needed to contain the outbreak.
