Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has celebrated children in the state on the occasion of this year’s Children’s Day.
This year’s celebration, the last under Governor Obaseki’s tenure, was marked by engaging activities and the Governor’s Cup 2.0 in a vibrant event at Ogbemudia Stadium.
Governor Obaseki, alongside First Lady Dr. Betsy Obaseki and the Commissioner for Education, Dr. Joan Osa-Oviawe, emphasised the importance of education and culture in the community.
The event also saw the launch of the Edo State anthem, performed by school children, university students, youth corps members, and market women, under the guidance of Dr. Betsy Obaseki who conducted the performance.
Governor Obaseki expressed his pride at the event’s success, acknowledging the children’s enthusiasm and talent as a testament to Edo’s bright future.
“Today, we celebrate not just our children, but the enduring legacy of our cultural heritage,” he remarked.
