Chief Mike Ozekhome, SAN

Chief Mike Agbedor Abu Ozekhome (SAN), is a renowned constitutional lawyer, human rights activist, pro-democracy campaigner and Officer of the Federal Republic (OFR). He has endeared himself to many and he is a man of many parts;  Senior Advocate of the Masses (SAM), Voice of the People (VOP), Senior Advocate of Nigerian Students (SANS), Notary Public of Nigeria,\ social critic, public affairs analyst and Knight of the Order of St. Mulumba (KSM).

He is known as an orator because he has a way with words and possesses profound oratorical skills which enable him strike the right chord, when he speaks, while painting mentally-recorded pictures with words. He is one of the disciples of the great late Chief Gani Fawehinmi, and he worked first, as a junior counsel in his chambers before becoming a senior counsel, from where he rose to the highest position of Deputy Head of Chambers by 1985.

He was at one time a lecturer at the Faculty of Law, Obafemi Awolowo University and today, many of his students are judges, Senior Advocates of Nigeria, top entrepreneurs, diplomats, captains of industry, top military brass and professors.

He is known to boldly speak the truth to authority and frequently challenged dictatorial anti-people decisions of any government in power. He has made himself an anti-corruption czar and he was the first to propound the theory that corruption is the 37th State in Nigeria, describing it as the wealthiest and most potent.

He has been described as a symbol of total embodiment and commitment to excellence in the act of public administration and management. He is married to a lawyer and gender crusader, Lady (Chief) Josephine Mike Ozekhome, LL.M.
