Charity organisation lunches modern computer training centre for schools in Osun

In an effort to advance technology in the country, the Charity Organisation known as ITECH has established a state-of-the-art Computer Training Centre valued at N25 million for secondary schools, specifically AFOPET College in Erin Oke of Oriade Local Government Area in Osun State.

The technology organisation, as communicated by its President, Mr. Ladesuyi Adewale, during the commissioning of the facility last Thursday, clarified that the investment of N25 million covered the construction, procurement of computers and laptops, as well as scholarship awards for students.

According to him, “The objective is to help the young one with computer skills so that they can be able to be self employed. We want to catch them young. Many of our young ones are going abroad not knowing they can make it in Nigeria. Many people abroad are looking for someone who will work with them. So that’s the future.”

“The goals of the ICT centre is to enable students to acquire deeper knowledge of computer programming , data analysis among others which will enable them to secure a job after graduation.”

He said, “the motive is also to catch them young and reduce the rate of running abroad for jobs as the knowledge gained will enable students to invest in the country.”

“This is done to pay back to the community. The school is ready to help them . As at now, we are giving scholarship to most of those in training , two teachers are currently undergoing the training those people will train others but even at that, we have to do foreign examinations that will qualify them to get job abroad so they have to pay for those foreign examinations”

“Our agency has a trustee which is made up of successful professionals and businessmen. We spent about 25 million for the building, computers and for the scholarship and most of the things we need for the program.

He called on the state government to support the Programme by adding more computer gadgets and other equipment w to the centre to enable them move faster.

Also Speaking, the proprietor of the school, Mr Afolabi Oluwafemi Peter praised the organisation for sponsoring the ICT centre in the school.

He said the Afropect Computer Center is a testament to the vision and dedication of a remarkable individual, Olori Oyinlola, the initiator for the noble venture.

I stand before you with immense pride and gratitude, celebrating not only the physical space we unveil but the boundless opportunities it promises for the people of Erin Oke and its surroundings.”
