Although the Bible encourages us to be fruitful and to multiply, the injunction has been abused in Nigeria as a result of lack of family planning in many homes leading to too much people depending on few amenities.
Due to this, there are generally some problems affecting the Nigerian birth system and the major challenge is poverty. When there is poverty amongst couples, they are unable to cater for their wards and children.
Another problem of uncontrolled birth in Nigeria is the issue of influx of school drop-outs and deviant behaviours; smoking, cultism, lack of parental guidance. From this, I want to suggest that couples in the society should understand the need to have just the number of children they can conveniently offer a meaningful life and these can be achieved through family planning.
Also the government, NGOs and mass media should help sensitizing the people on the dangers of uncontrolled birth in Nigeria.
