CEO, Africa Youth Growth Foundation harps on credible polls in Kogi

Ahead of the governorship election in Kogi State on Saturday, the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of a non-governmental organisation, Africa Youth Growth Foundation (AYGF), Dr. Arome Salifu, stressed the need for a rancour-free election.

Dr Arome Salifu, while speaking on the election, said the people should demonstrate their civic rights devoid of violence.

According to him, there is no alternative to peace, noting that the Africa Youth Growth Foundation remains committed to youth development in all its ramifications.

The Chief Executive Officer maintained that the country’s democratic process can only be strengthened when elections are seen as free, fair, and credible.

He particularly advised youths to avoid violence of whatever form but encourage a peaceful election process to allow the people to vote for candidates of their choice.

Dr Arome emphasised that Nigerians were keenly watching the coming election, stressing that the election is not a war but a development process.

The founder of the Africa Youth Growth Foundation also urged the security personnel to be alive to their responsibilities by remaining apolitical towards a free, fair, and credible election that would be a source of pride for all.

Dr Arome advised the security to give proper attention to flashpoints in order to avoid loss of life and property.
