Celebrity Video Gaming will put Nigeria on gaming map internationally —Vj Adams

Adams Adebola, a.k.a. Vj Adams has said that Celebrity Video Gaming competition would soon put Nigeria on the international gaming map.

He said this after  Falodun Oluseyi emerged the winner of the 2018 Celebrity Video Game held at the Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos.

Vj Adams also said that he organised the event to bring gamers from across the country to prove their worth.

He said that the gaming event would be the biggest event in the near future.

“Gaming has evolved around the world. So, the plan is to put Nigeria on the gaming map in the world and this is one of the steps to achieve that.

“The turnout was massive and we intend to make it bigger in the next edition.

“Shout out to the sponsors for making all these happen and we will be back next year,” he said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported that celebrities and professional gamers contested for the grand prize of N300,000 in Fifa 18 on PlayStation.

Other games where contestants featured include: Mortal Kombat, Jenga, Ludo, Card, and Nintendo Wii

Oluseyi, the winner of the grand prize, told NAN that he was confident about winning from the outset.

“I have been playing Fifa football game for years, so I was pretty confident that I was going to be the overall winner.

“The challenge was very competitive and I defeated various opponents on my way to the final.

“But in situations like this, you must have self-confidence and the rest will come easy.

“I will be back for the next edition to defend and retain my title as the best gamer in the country,” he said.

He said that he would expand his business with the cash prize.

“I am going to channel the money into my business and other things that will yield rewards for me and my family,’’ he said.

He commended Vj Adams for this gesture, saying it would put Nigeria on the global stage in gaming.

Also, Shawn Umo, the first runner-up noted that he lost because he was not used to playing games on projector screens.

“It was a nice and fair game but the main reason I lost was because I was not used to playing games on large screens like this one,’’ he said.

Some of the celebrities at the event include: Ufuoma Mcdermott, Praiz, Harrysongz, Dj Neptune, Niniola, Dice Ailes, Nelson Jack, Dj Kaywise , Dj Big and others.
