Arts mogul and top producer, Bolanle Austen Peters has eventually launched the 400-seater, state of the art theatre in Lagos, christened “Terra Kulture Arena”.
The architectural masterpiece is the first privately-owned technology equipped modern arts theatre in Nigeria and has already broken records with its two day launch which hosted over 1,200 theatre enthusiasts.
“The all-in-one centre for arts and culture was built to serve a significant need in the theatre industry as only a few places in Nigeria provide the appropriate ambiance for Nigerians and foreigners alike to experience Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage,” says Founder, Bolanle Austen Peters during the 2-day unveiling programme.
Guests which included celebrities and theatre aficionados were treated to assorted wineries and an exquisite array of canapés in the new ultra-modern lounge as well as a short clip of Saro the Musical, Wakaa the Musical, while BAP productions’ newest feature, Fela and the Kalakuta Queens was scheduled to be showen in December.
There was also a special rendition of the soundtrack of Wakaa by soul singer, Brymo.
The Minister of Information and Culture, Hon. Alhaji Lai Mohammed, who was in attendance, commended efforts of the Bolanle Austen-Peters Production, while assuring the Federal Government’s commitment to boost art and culture in the country.
Other special guests at the launch include; Hon. Steve Ayorinde (Commissioner of Information and Strategy), Prof. Demola Abass (S.A to the Governor on overseas affairs, Lagos State), Mrs Bolanle Adesola(MD Standard Chartered Bank), Mr Waheed Olagunju (MD Bank of Industry), Mr Tonye Cole (MD Sahara Energy), Nonny Ugbonna (Executive Secretary MTN Foundation).
