Celebrating the Alaafin of Oyo at 80

Published by

It is not how long a person lives but the quality of years in the life lived. In a few days, the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III will be 80 years old.

The revered traditional ruler has been on the throne for 47years.

Obviously during his tenure, Oyo has witnessed remarkable progress and developments.

He has consistently promoted Yoruba culture within and outside the shores of Nigeria.

The old Oyo kingdom has remained intact; there is general peace and order in the ancient town. There is adequate security too.
