The leadership of the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) worldwide has said that it would use the occasion of its 70th anniversary celebration to unite all aggrieved parties and chart the path to positive transformation.
Pastor and Spiritual Head of the church, Reverend Emmanuel Oshoffa, made this statement at the Makoko, Lagos headquarters of the CCC worldwide, while unveiling the logo for the 70th anniversary.
He was accompanied to the event by other leaders of the church, including Evangelist Taiwo Oshin.
According the Oshoffa, who is also a son to the founder of the church, the late Samuel Belewu Oshoffa, it decided to celebrate the anniversary because such celebration is significant.
Chairman of the 70-member Central Planning Committee, Prophet Emmanuel Soyemi, said the celebration was not all about wining and dining, but an occasion for the church to re-address its ways.
According to Prophet Soyemi, the church will use the opportunity of the anniversary to address all divisions in the church and bring it back to the ‘one fold, one shepherd’ status.
“All of us have deviated from the higher honour; we want to return to where we started from. This landmark celebration will address the misgivings in the church,” he said.
Speaking further, Soyemi said the root cause of retrogression facing the country was because the people had disconnected from God.
He , however, urged Nigerians to have a renewed attitude to life.
“As a country, we have so many churches and mosques, but the question is whether our soul is with God. We are only praising God with our mouths but He wants both our souls and mouths to feed from him,” Prophet Soyemi said.
