Contrary to the news doing the rounds that the just-concluded first phase of the music tour tagged: Choc Boi Nation (CBN) tour 2019, was influenced by some political figures in the country, the Chief Executive Officer of the Chocolate City music lable, M.I, has reacted that the news was untrue.
Instead, he noted that the primary objective of the show was to encourage the youths across the country to take more active roles in politics, as well as exercise their right in voting right candidates into government.
While expressing his delight over the success of the music tour, which was well-received by thousands of youths in Jos, Abuja, Ibadan and Abeokuta, MI stated that the public should disregard the negative news, as the music tour has no link with any political party or politician.
“Contrary to the ‘gist’ spreading on the internet, all participants in the tour did so by choice and were not influenced by any political party or politician. Chocolate City Music, & MI Abaga are non partisan and belong to any political party,” he said.
CBN, which was held at four locations were thrilled by performances from MI Abaga, Jesse Jagz, Ice Prince, Reminisce, Classiq, Ycee, Taiye Currency, Reekado Banks, Ckay, Blaqbonez and Street Billionaires, among others.
According to the rapper, the event was powered by OSIWA, an organisation with the mission to enable open societies and inclusive democratic governance that are based on transparent and accountable institutions and an active citizenry.
