Catholic youths hold first entrepreneurship fair

Published by

The Youth Catholic Professionals (YCP) of the Church of Assumption have organised its first ever job/entrepreneurship fair to equip Nigerian youths with the requisite skills of getting their desired employment.

Speaking at the fair, president of YCP, Mr Patrick Andoya, said the challenges confronting Nigerian graduates necessitated the programme.

He said graduates came out of school with almost zero availability of jobs, despite being pre-occupied with the mindset that it would serve as a source of income for them and even those around them.

YCP is a pool of graduates between the ages of 25 and 50 years, who come together to rub minds, sharing experiences that would transform into self and national development.

Speaking about the objectives of the fair, Andoya said: “we want to start the evangelism of building people, who are out of jobs, and through capacity building, help those who want to be entrepreneurs with the necessary skill sets to build their businesses.”

In his address, Parish Priest, Catholic Church of the Assumption, Falomo, Lagos, Reverend Father Pius Omofuma, said it was imperative to focus on youths because they were the leaders of tomorrow.
