As anticipation builds for the 4th edition of the Afrobeats Music Festival (AMF) scheduled to hold in Toronto from August 1–3, 2025, pioneers and stakeholders of the event have paid a courtesy visit to the Deputy High Commissioner of Canada, Mr Troy Arbulú Rojas, at the Canadian Deputy High Commission in Lagos, Nigeria.
The delegation, led by Prince George Peters, founder of the Afrobeats Music Festival, engaged in a strategic dialogue centered on cultural exchange, bilateral collaboration, and infrastructure development in the entertainment industry between Nigeria and Canada.
Also in attendance were key figures in Nigeria’s creative industry: Dami Adenuga, Oladapo Adewunmi, Bankulli, Destalker, MC Edopikin, Zerry DL (representing Shallipopi), and music star Reekado Banks.
It was gathered that the presence of these cultural influencers further confirmed the growing global appeal and diplomatic power of Afrobeats.
Since its inception, the Afrobeats Music Festival has become one of the most influential cultural exports out of Africa, successfully amplifying African music, fashion, and lifestyle on the global stage.
The past three editions, hosted in Canada, have drawn thousands of music lovers, diaspora communities, and international audiences, serving not just as a celebration of music but as a platform for cross-cultural collaboration, economic opportunity, and international visibility for African talents.
This consistency and impact have positioned AMF as more than just a music event—it is a movement, showcasing the evolution and global dominance of Afrobeats while fostering meaningful diplomatic and creative partnerships.
The visit to the Canadian Deputy High Commission marked another step in expanding that vision, as both nations explore joint initiatives in training, trade, entertainment policy, and creative investment.
Prince Peters stated further that “Afrobeats is no longer just a genre but a global phenomenon. With each edition, AMF brings the world closer to Africa through music and culture. This visit reflects our commitment to building lasting partnerships that elevate not just the festival, but the entire creative ecosystem.”
With the 2025 edition promising to be bigger, louder, and better, the Afrobeats Music Festival is on track to become a global staple in the cultural calendar, bridging continents, connecting communities, and amplifying African excellence worldwide.
