The Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN) has raised the alarm over the activities of impersonators masquerading as the Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria for the 19 Northern States and FCT.
A statement signed by the National Chairman of YOWICAN, Amb. Belusochukwu Enwere, stated that the impersonators have gone ahead to organize a maiden annual convention with the theme “Go Over This Jordan,” scheduled to take place in Abuja.
However, YOWICAN cautions invitees to the program against attending the event, as the organizers are not recognized by the Constitution of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and YOWICAN.
The statement reads:
“The attention of YOWICAN has been drawn to the unlawful activities of some impersonators operating under the aegis of ‘The Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria for the 19 Northern States and FCT,’ who are purportedly organizing a maiden annual convention with the theme ‘Go Over This Jordan,’ scheduled to take place at the National Ecumenical Center, Abuja, between February 21 and 22, 2025.

“We wish to use this medium to warn the general public, especially Christians, invitees, and awardees, to stay away from the said program and all activities associated with this impostor group, as there is no such body, group, or branch recognized in the Constitution of CAN and YOWICAN bylaws as ‘The Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria for the 19 Northern States and FCT.’
“Any individual or group associating with this impostor group does so at their own risk, especially as the group has been reported to the relevant security and law enforcement agencies for proper investigation, apprehension, and prosecution under the law.
