CAN mourns late Emir of Ningi, condoles with Bauchi gov

The Bauchi State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has extended condolences to the government and people of the state over the death of the Emir of Ningi, Muhammadu Yunusa Danyaya.

CAN particularly expressed condolences to Governor Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir, the Emir of Bauchi Dr. Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu (Chairman of the State Council of Traditional Rulers), the Ningi Emirate Council, Ningi and Warji LGAs, and the entire family of the late Emir.

In a statement signed by the Chairman, Rev. Dr. Abraham Damina Dimues, CAN stated, “The Christian Association of Nigeria, Bauchi State chapter, received the news of the Emir of Ningi’s passing with shock.”

According to CAN, “He was a father to us. He loved Christians with passion. Honestly, a great vacuum has been created. But we all know that our lives on earth are temporary; we have a home in Heaven.”

“We ask God to give us the fortitude to bear this great loss. Rest on, Papa,” the statement concluded.

In the same vein, the Bauchi State Council of the Christian Council of Nigeria (CCN) described the death of the Emir of Ningi as a great loss not only to his immediate family, the Emirate, Ningi and Warji LGAs, and Bauchi State, but to the entire country.

The State Chairman of CCN, Rev. Prof. Collins David Agbong, expressed sadness over the death, noting that it came at a time when his fatherly counsel and advice were most needed.

The CCN Chairman added that, from what he had heard and read about him, the late Royal Father lived a sacrificial life worthy of emulation by whoever will succeed him.

According to him, “Throughout his entire life, he never allowed ethno-religious divisions in his domain, as no issues of religious crisis were pronounced in the Emirate. He was indeed a father to all.”

He prayed for the repose of his soul and for God to grant the immediate family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
