I am a diabetic who is on medications and with a well controlled blood sugar. I want to know if I can still fast occasionally as my religious faith directs?

Fasting for diabetics calls for a proper monitoring of the Blood Sugar to guard against sudden low blood sugar and its dire consequences. However, if you are sure that your blood sugar is well controlled and your medications are adequate, you can fast. All you need is to have some sugar drinks at hand in case you feel faint due to low blood sugar during the day which is a common occurrence with diabetics who are fasting.
