The Corporate Affairs Managers Committee of the Nigerian Insurers Association (CAMCONIA ) has created a new roadmap for the group, with a resolve to strengthen the image of the association in the insurance industry, among other goals set for 2024.
The Association also agreed to ensure that Heads of Insurance companies appreciate the value of corporate communications in their various organisations, and assume an important place in the industry-related activities that will help enhance the Association’s contributions to the growth of the insurance industry.
These resolutions were reached when CAMCONIA held its inaugural meeting at the Secretariat of the Nigerian Insurers Association, Victoria Island, Lagos, after the election of the new EXCO in December 2023.
Those who were elected in December 2023 as executives to oversee the affairs of the association for the next two years included the Deputy General Manager, Corporate Communications & Investor Relations, Sovereign Trust Insurance Plc, Mr. Segun Bankole as Chairman; Chief Marketing Officer, Heirs Insurance Group, Mrs. Ifesinachi Okoli-Okpagu and the Senior Marketing Services Coordinator at Sanlam Nigeria Limited, Bankole Banjo, Vice Chairman and General Secretary respectively.
The new executives used the meeting to unveil to its members and the general public the association’s roadmap for 2024.
The CAMCONIA Chairman, Mr Segun Bankole said aside from the main focus of the association in 2024, other areas of concentration will entail fostering good relationships with all industry-related parties such as the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN), Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB), Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA) and the regulator, National Insurance Commission (NAICOM).
He added that the association will ensure good collaboration with the insurance media community; revive and revitalise the annual CAMCONIA retreats and place a premium on the welfare of CAMCONIA members.
CAMCONIA is the Corporate Affairs Managers Committee of the Nigerian Insurers Association, set up by the NIA to seek common grounds in the growth of Nigeria’s insurance industry.
