The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has commended President Bola Tinubu for appointing Ayodele Olawande as the substantive Minister of Youth Development after a cabinet reshuffling on Wednesday.
The NYCN while also congratulating the minister urged him to continue to be a good ambassadors of the youths by introducing and working on initiatives that will drive and impart on youth empowerment across the nation.
A statement signed by NYCN President who also doubles as the Secretary of the Board of Trustees (BoT), Ambassador Sukubo Sara-Igbe Sukubo and made available to Tribune Online urged the minister to approach his new role with the same approach as a junior minister saying Nigerian youths cannot wait for transformative policies with focus on skill acquisition, entrepreneurship and empowerment. The NYCN leader said the Council is ready to give its total support to the minister to have a successful tenure in office.
“We commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) for recognizing the immense potential of Olawande and for appointing a leader whose commitment to youth development is both profound and unwavering. This appointment is a testament to the President’s dedication to uplifting the youth demographic in Nigeria and addressing the pressing challenges we face today.
“The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) extends its heartfelt congratulations to Ayodele Olawande on his well-deserved appointment as the Minister of Youth Development. This pivotal role presents an exceptional opportunity for Olawande to effect meaningful change and drive youth empowerment initiatives across the nation.
“As we celebrate this significant milestone, we urge Olawande to approach his new role with the same vigour and dedication that has characterised his career thus far. The youth of Nigeria are eager for transformative policies that prioritise skill acquisition, entrepreneurship, and empowerment.
