Kabiru, who resides at Rido Village, Kaduna State, is facing a two-count charge of breach of trust and cheating.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Shehu Abdullahi told the court that the matter was reported at the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (CID) by Alhaji Aliyu Lawal of Silver Ventures Alien Limited, Kaduna on Oct 28.
According to Abdullahi, the defendant was entrusted with a truck loaded with 45,000 litres of petrol to deliver to a fuel station on Mohammed-Buhari Way in Kaduna.
The prosecutor said that the defendant, however, sold 750 litres of the said petrol valued at N441,017 and diverted the money to his personal use without the complainant’s consent.
Abdullahi said that when the defendant was interrogated, he confessed that he committed the offence, which contravened sections 292 and 217 of the Kaduna State Penal Code Laws, 2017.

After the charges were read to him, the defendant, however, pleaded not guilty.
The Judge, Alhaji Abubakar Jumare, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties.
Jumare ordered that sureties must reside within the jurisdiction of the court and also submit two recent passport photographs or a National Identity card
He adjourned the matter until Dec. 17 for hearing.
