The police, on Wednesday, arraigned a 21-year-old bus conductor, Usman Abubakar, in a Karimo Grade I Area Court Abuja, for allegedly stealing two wristwatches worth N50,000.
Abubakar who lives in Jabi is charged with theft and assault.
The Prosecution Counsel, Mrs Ijeoma Ukagha, told the court that the complainant, Tochukwu Okafor who resides in Nyanya, Abuja, reported the matter at the Karimo Police Station on December 19, 2019.
She alleged that the complainant gave his friend, one Ali Okoro 20 pieces of wristwatches to keep for him at Jabi Motor Park.
The prosecutor told the court that on December 17, 2019, the defendant stole two of the wristwatches.

She alleged that the police recovered the stolen wristwatches from the defendant.
Ukagha said that during police investigation, Abubakar, could not give a satisfactory account of his actions.
The prosecutor said the offence contravened the provisions of sections 288 and 267 of the Penal Code.
Abubakar pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Judge, Alhaji Inuwa Maiwada, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N200, 000 with one surety in like sum.
He adjourned the case until February 12, for hearing.
