Burial committee for late Olubadan, Lekan Balogun, to meet Monday

The Final Burial Committee of the Late Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Senator Lekan Balogun, will hold its inaugural meeting Monday at the Ministry of Local Government Secretariat in Ibadan.

The Nigerian Tribune exclusively gathered that the members of the committee comprise representatives of the state government and the family of the late monarch.

The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Segun Olayiwola, will serve as the Chairman of the Committee.

The Nigerian Tribune recalls that Governor Seyi Makinde, during his condolence visit to the Alarere residence of the late monarch, promised the family and the people of Ibadanland a befitting burial.

Oba Sen. Balogun was the 42nd Olubadan of Ibadanland. He died after a brief illness at the University College Hospital.
