Bukola Saraki destroyed Kogi PDP ― Hon Karimi

THE former House of Representatives representing Yagba Federal Constituency in the lower chamber of the National Assembly, Hon. Sunday Karimi said that the crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) can be traced to former Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki who rewarded non-party members in the state with automatic tickets during the last National Assembly Election and also in the governorship primaries.

Hon. Karimi, fingered the former Senate President, as the mastermind behind the Kogi Peoples Democratic Party crisis, says asking him to head the reconciliation team ahead the forthcoming governorship election in the state would only end up compounding the crisis he created.

Hon. Sunday Karimi who disclosed this to newsmen in an interview conducted on Wednesday fingered the former Senate President as the architect and the brain behind the destruction of the party in Kogi State and lamented that his role in imposing National Assembly candidates and in the Governorship Primaries where what led to the Kogi PDP crisis today.

Hon. Sunday Karimi, a two-time member of the House of Representative, said the destruction of the Kogi PDP that is now obvious today is the product of the seed planted long ago by the former Senate President when he insisted on given automatic tickets to non-PDP members as a reward for their loyalty to him against loyal the party.

Hon. Karimi, who represented Yagba Federal Constituency in the lower chamber of the National Assembly, said the former Senate President sowed the seed of discord in the party by rewarding persons with the party’s ticket in the last general election, said asking him to reconcile the party ahead the forthcoming governorship election would only compound the crisis, described his assignment as dead on arrival.

While noting that for long the PDP has been necked deep in the impunity to always reward returning and non members, but said the efforts by the former Senate president to use the state as guinea pig during the last national assembly and governorship primaries to reward non members, was the last straw that broke the camel’s back in the Kogi PDP crisis.
