Professor Yemi Osinbajo
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has reiterated that the core vision of President Muhammadu Buhari’s regime is to change the narrative of the Niger Delta.
He made the assertion at the maiden matriculation ceremony of the Nigerian Maritime University (NMU), Okerenkoko, Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State.

Professor Osinbajo, who, though representing President Buhari, was himself represented by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Niger Delta, Mr Edobor Iyamu, expressed joy at the progress of the institution.
“NMU, Okerenkoko is one of the strongest demonstration of commitment of my administration to developing the Niger Delta.
“The new vision for the Niger Delta is to ensure that the huge resources of the Niger Delta are put to work for the good of the people of the region.
“NMU, Okerenkoko, will be known around the world as the centre of excellence and a repository of knowledge in maritime matter.
“For the matriculating students and the pioneer staff, I enjoin you to discharge your duties with dedication and pride and to continue to carry yourselves as excellent ambassadors of this university”, President Buhari admonished.
He assured that the Niger Delta communities would enjoy further projects, adding that the FG would continue to support the amnesty programme.
The acting Governor of Delta State, Deacon Kingsley Otuaro, in his remarks, said the University was a fulfilled dream and vision of the Niger Delta people.
He assured that the state government would give the best of support to the growth and development of the university.
