Buhari receives Akpabio in London

Against the rumours of his impending defection to the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), Senate Minority Leader, Godswill Akpabio, has met with President Muhammadu Buhari in London.

Photographs emerged on Sunday that the former Akwa Ibom State governor met with the president who is currently on 10-working-day holiday in the United Kingdom.
Senator Akpabio had also been reported to have met with APC National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, over his proposed move away from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Reports suggest that a rally to be attended by Vice President’s Yemi Osinbajo will be organised in his hometown, Ikot Ekpene, on Wednesday to formally receive Akpabio into the APC fold.
Several new media assistants to the president published the London meeting photographs in their twitter accounts.
In a tweet on his personal handle, @SenatorAkpabio, after the visit, Akpabio wrote: “Our most important task as leaders is to engage in meaningful discussion and share ideas that will build the bridge between the struggle of today and the future we will all be proud of.”
