Buhari rewarding Mrs Ugwu for returning millions of dollars
A former cleaner at the Muritala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA), Chibuzor Josephine Ugwu, was, on Tuesday, presented the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC) Integrity Award by President Muhammadu Buhari.
She was presented the award for her honesty and integrity in the discharge of her duties.
Buhari presented the award at the opening of the 2-day national summit organised by the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation in collaboration with ICPC tagged “Diminishing Corruption in the Public Sector” held at State House old Banquet Hall, Abuja.
Ugwu, while working at the Enugu and Lagos airports, has returned millions of Naira she found in toilets.

On the 23rd of December 2014, she found and returned N3million at the airport. Also on the 27th of the same month, she found and returned N600, 000. On the 23rd of January, 2015, she found and returned $12m.
Alongside the award, she was gifted with a furnished house in Lagos.
Also presented an integrity award was Bashing Ahmed, an Assistant Comptroller-General of Customs.
Ahmed, in 2018, was said to have declined a $412,500 (150m) bribe offer by traffickers to import 40 containers of tramadol, while at service as the Comptroller of Customs at Apapa, Lagos.
