President Muhammadu Buhari has hailed Sen. Ken Nnamani’s for the role he played as the fifth president of the Senate that brought stability in democracy in Nigeria.
Speaking on Thursday in Abuja at the launching of a book titled “Standing Strong” by Sen. Ken Nnamani, Buhari congratulated the former Senate President for finding time to write the book.
Represented by the Minister of Science and Technology, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu, the President said for “22 years we have had uninterrupted democracy due to efforts of people like you”.
Buhari said his administration recognised the sacrifice that has been put into stabilising democracy in Nigeria, “that is why for six years I have focused on building infrastructure like roads, rail lines, seaports, and improving our educational sector as means of building a solid foundation for the country.
“We are making efforts to improve food security, my administration is determined to reduce poverty that is why we have created a friendly environment for businesses to strive.”
The President said his administration has utilised the resources of the country well by completing projects started under the past administration.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the present administration to end all forms of insecurity in the country. “This administration will not rest until this country is safe,” the President stated.
Buhari maintained that the future of Nigeria was bright, noting that “the things that unite us are more than the thing that separates us.”
