PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari, on Thursday, congratulated eminent academic and former Minister of Petroleum, Professor Tamunoemi Sokari David-West, as he turns 80 today.
According to a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, in Abuja, President Buhari recalled “with fond memories, his long-term relationship with the elder statesman, when he served as Minister of Petroleum between 1984 and 1985.”
The president commended his “steadfastness and forthrightness on issues of good governance, democracy, human rights and the unity of Nigeria, especially when some seem to easily give up on the project of building one great nation.”
