Bringing farmers on board

Published by

All campaigns will kick start very soon and the politicians are working assiduously to win the hearts of the populace in the different areas of the economic sectors. They will be making different promises and then neglecting the peasant farmers that cultivate the land. There have not been campaign promises in the interests of the farmers. There have not been verifiable pieces of information on how to meet the food needs and demands of the average Nigerian for food sufficiency.

The only strategy that is necessary is to build the confidence of the farmers in the areas of creating value for their farm produce; another strategy is to use the weapons of their population in addressing the current agricultural problems that are related to the cultivation of land, processing, post-harvest management systems and other issues.

They must promise them effective agricultural transport schemes and expose them to the international community. This will boost their food production and help them meet international market standards in terms of production and improved outputs that will address exportation of agricultural produce. Addressing these issues will mitigate them in the exportation of agricultural produce thereby making sure that they are engineered into the reform of land mechanizations that will ease their agricultural practice.
