BREAKING: Onnoghen arrives CCT

Following the order of the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) that Inspector General of Police and the Director General of the Department of State Security (DSS) to arrest and produce the suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Walter Onnoghen has just been driven to the premises of the Tribunal in Abuja.

The Tribunal’s premises is beefed up with heavy security even as the Tribunal has not commenced sitting.

Justice Onnoghen is presently waiting patiently in the car, for the three member panel of the Tribunal to resume sitting in his matter.

Onnoghen is being prosecuted by the federal government on a six count charge of non declaration of his assets before the Tribunal.

Tribunal chairman. Danladi Umar had, on Wednesday issued a bench warrant, ordering the Police and the DSS to arrest him and bring him before the Tribunal for him to take his plea in the charges preferred against him by the federal government.
