BREAKING: Governor Makinde signs N213bn 2020 Appropriation Bill into law

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, on Monday, signed into law the 2020 appropriation bill with a sum of N213 billion.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that Makinde presented the budget to the state House of Assembly, on November 28 and was passed into law on Friday, December 20.

The 2020 budget which the lawmakers increased by N4.4 billion, was signed into law at the Executive Chambers of the governor’s office, Agodi in Ibadan.

In his remark at the occasion, the governor said the budget was in line with his document on road map for the accelerated development of the state and also represented the aspirations of the people.

He observed that the upward review of the estimated bill sent to the state assembly by N4.4bn cuts across capital expenditure and recurrent expenditure.

Makinde said he remained committed to ensuring about 70 per cent implementation of the budget.

The Speaker of the State Assembly, Debo Ogundoyin, remarked that the increment in the budget was to give widespread development, particularly to the grassroots.

All members of the state executive, PDP chieftains and some political office holders witnessed the occasion.(NAN)
