President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday met with the new governor of Bayelsa state, Senator Duoye Diri, at the presidential villa, Abuja.
Both men met for the first time behind closed doors in the president’s office after which the governor told State House reporters that Buhari expressed delight in the way he had carried on since the assumption office February 14 this year.

Diri, who was the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was handed victory by the Supreme Court following inconsistencies in the document presented for nomination by the running mate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate, Senator Biobarakum Degi-Eremienyo.
