BREAKING: APC’s Ahmed Lawan wins Senate presidency election

The All Progressives Congress preferred candidate, Ahmed Lawan, has been elected the president of the Nigerian Senate

Lawan defeated the People’s Democratic Party adopted candidate Ali Ndume, also of the APC with 79 votes.

Counting so far showed that Lawan was leading with 68 votes while counting continues. There are 107 senators currently at the Senate and Lawan has already scored over half of the votes.
