‘Only son of family killed by Al-makura’s son’

THE death of Amos Oveh, a boy allegedly knocked down by Khali Almakura, son of Nasarawa State governor, has continued to generate sympathy, Amos, being the only son of his parents.

The son of Governor Umaru Tanko Al-makura had allegedly knocked down a JSS 2 student of Government Science School, Lafia, on Sunday night, while he was returning from a night club.

A source at the Government Science School, Lafia, school of the late student, who did not want his name in print disclosed this to Nigerian Tribune on Tuesday.

The source said “the deceased student was the only child of the family and the death of the boy had caused a lot of trauma in the family.”

He added that, the student had already been buried at Mada Station village of Nassarawa-Eggon Local Government Area of the state on Monday, March 20.

Meanwhile, the Nasarawa State Police Command said it would prosecute the culprit.

The State Commissioner of Police, Abubakar Sadiq, Bello who disclosed this to newsmen on Tuesday, in Lafia, said “as soon as investigation is concluded the culprit will be charged to court.”

According to the Commissioner, “the culprit is still in detention pending the completion of investigation.”

Bello, therefore, assured members of the public that the police will do everything possible to protect lives and properties in the state.
