Bowen University appoints Professor Joshua Ogunwole as new VC

Professor Joshua Ogunwole has taken over the leadership mantle of Bowen University, Iwo, as the new Vice Chancellor of the institution. He succeeded Professor Matthews Ojo who completed his tenure having served the institution meritoriously for five years.

His appointment came following his wealth of experience, in research at the international level couple with his brilliant performance in the interview conducted for many other candidates how inspired for the position of the vacant office of the Vice Chancellor of the Ivory Tower, by the Nigerian Baptist Convention, the proprietor of the university.

At the official handing over ceremony held on Wednesday, the new Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ogunwole assured the university community his readiness to serve the university, building on the legacies  being put in place by his predecessors, with a vision to  develop workable academic and administrative policies that would transform the faith-based private university into vibrant teaching and research centre of learning such that the university’s products will have global recognition in character and in  learning, stressing that his administration would recognise teamwork.

 Professor Ogunwole attended Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, to study Agricultural Science up to PhD level. Until his new appointment, He had worked as the lecturer, researcher and administrator Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and also an academic staff of the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti. He has won many international awards in his field.
