Owing to the lingering boundary dispute between Ogunkanmi communities in Akinyele Local Government and Iware in Afijio Local Government, the Oyo State Government has urged residents of the communities to remain calm.
Surveyor General of Oyo State, Alaba Sekore who made this call during a meeting with relevant stakeholders of the communities, held at Akinyele Local Government Conference Room, Ibadan, harped on the need for the raging communities to embrace peace.
Speaking, Sekore assured that the state government was looking into complaints of the different parties and was poised to provide a lasting solution to the dispute.

Stressing that security and peace was a key pillar of the Governor Seyi Makinde administration, Sekore said the current government would not tolerate anyone or group of persons intent on disrupting the tranquility in the state.
Responding, leaders of the two communities, Mr Akin Adesina and Mr Bamigbade Muyiwa praised the state government’s efforts in the settlement of boundary dispute across the state.
They also asserted a desire to give peace a chance to reign in their communities.
