#BornoDecides2023: Zulum wins re-election with wide margin

Prof. Babagana Zulum has been re-elected as governor of Borno after polling the total number of highest of votes in the just-concluded gubernatorial election in the State.

Declaring the result at the INEC collation centre in Maiduguri on Sunday, Professor Jude Tsammani Rabo, INEC returning officer for Borno state, State that Zulum of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is the winner of the governorship election with 545,543 votes.

Mohammed Ali Jajari of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) emerged as second with 81,850 votes.

According to him, “Babagana Umara Zulum of APC, having satisfied the requirements of the law, is hereby declared the winner of the election and returned elected”.

He noted that the total votes cast was 649855, total number of valid votes is 636,246, while the total number of invalid votes is 11,609.
