Borno government has launched an e-staff web app to check information leakages and bolster security in government institutions in the state.
Commissioner for Information and Home Security, Professor Usman Tar said the web app would enhance information security, ease government business and improve governance.
The web app was unveiled on Tuesday in Maiduguri at a five-day capacity-building workshop organised for information custodians across the state.
The workshop, themed ‘Misinformation and Information Leakages as Challenges to Human Resources Administration in the New Media Era’, was jointly organised by the Borno State Government, AMSAM Konsult Ltd and the multi-sectoral crisis recovery project.
According to Lead Consultant, Abdullahi Maude, the platform securely stores and manages sensitive information, reduces unauthorised access risks and tracks user activities.
AMSAM Konsult Ltd’s Director of Training and Research, Mukhtar El-Kasim, noted that the web app streamlines communication flow, provides memo templates and solves complex tasks within the civil service.
Facilitator, Barroon Isma’eel Ahmad stressed the need for comprehensive training and infrastructure development.
Senior administrators and information officers from state and local governments attended the workshop, which covered new media, information management and freedom of information provisions.
