Book review: Making a change by changing

Published by

A review of Jacob Taiwo Orimadegun’s book, Make A Change to Have A Change.

WHATEVER challenge one is facing, it is possible to have a turnaround if one can follow the principles listed in Jacob Taiwo Orimadegun’s book, ‘Make A Change to Have A Change.’

The 40-chapter book uses Biblical principles to guide readers on how to maneuver their way through life.

The first chapter of the book is entitled, ‘Everybody is Important,’ and it explains that no human is a mistake. He further asserts that every challenging situation is a test of faith and an ordinary person known to Jesus holds the key to the solutions to challenges.

The second chapter, ‘God of All Possibilities,’ scratched the surface on those things that are possible with God. The author used Biblical verses to buttress his points on how powerful God is, with one example highlighting how the iron axe head floated in a river in 11 Kings 6, 1-7.

‘Change from the Past,’ is the title of the third chapter and the author explains that things keep changing, adding that it is important for children of God to also change and move towards their destinies.

Chapter five, ‘Gifts and Talents Go Together,’ explains the need for people to discover their talents and use them to positively impact themselves and their societies.

The author further emphasise the need to dream, concentrate, persist and be focuses in order to achieve set goals.

This must-read book guides the reader on the path to take in order to achieve set goals and objects.

Pastor Orimadegun, after retiring as a Chief Agricultural Superintendent from the Agricultural Development Programme (ADP) of Oyo State, is now into agricultural consultancy, where he teaches youths and business executives on agriculture.
