Boko Haram: South West governors should buckle up —Gani Adams

AS the controversy generated by the reported arrest of eight suspected Boko Haram members in Lagos State by the army continues, the Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, Chief Gani Adams, has advised South-West governors to buckle up.

The police in Lagos State had denied knowledge of arrest of any Boko Haram members after the General Officer Commanding the 81 division, Major General Olu  Irefin, announced the arrest.

Chief Adams saluted the courage of the military, not only for the operation that led to the arrest of the Boko Haram members, but also for the announcement of the arrest.

He charged the governors in the South-West not to take the issue of security lightly.

“I salute the courage of the army, not only for the operation but also for coming out to announce the arrest of the members of the sect.

“Lagos is very important to the economy of Nigeria and any attack on Lagos is an attack on Nigeria and it will discourage foreign investors,” he said.

On what he is doing to protect the region, Adams said “I have made efforts to collaborate with the governors in the region, but I am yet to get any response from them. Only Ondo State government has made efforts to meet with us.
