Boko Haram: Army chiefs relocate to Maiduguri

The Chief of Defence Staff, General Gabriel Olonisakin, Chief of Army Staff, Lt General Tukur Buratai, Air Chief, Air Vice Marshall Sadique Abubakar have relocated to Maiduguri, as a step forward in the insurgency war.

This was in conforming with the directive given by the acting president, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, on quelling Boko Haram insurgency.

They arrived the Command and Control Centre in Maiduguri, on Tuesday.

Theatre Commander of “Operation Lafiya Dole,” Major-General Ibrahim Attahiru, disclosed this to newsmen in Maiduguri.

“Right now, we will be having an interactive session with the service chiefs where they will be briefed about the ongoing operation,” Attahiru said.

He said their relocation to Maiduguri was imperative towards achieving the overall objectives of the counter-insurgency operation.

The desperate dimension the war has taken caused the Acting President Yemi Osinbajo to direct the Service Chiefs to relocate to Maiduguri to add pep to the command and control centre.
