Body hosts Ramadan lecture, food support programme in Ibadan

THE Engr. Strikah Foundation recently held its 2025 Ramadan Lecture and Food Support programme at Mapo Hall in Ibadan.

The event, hosted by Engr. Sanusi Ridwan Strikah, Chief Executive Officer of Engr. Strikah Foundation, and the Otun Giwa Adeen of Fresh FM, brought together thousands of people from Ibadan North East and Ibadan South East local government areas.

The highlight of the event was a lecture titled ‘Leadership and Governance: Islamic Perspective’, delivered by the Chief Imam of Fresh FM, Sheikh Abdul Kareem Olalekan Abdullah.

In his lecture, Sheikh Abdullah emphasised the importance of leadership and governance in Islam, stressing that leaders must be guided by the principles of justice, compassion, and accountability.

He noted that effective leadership is crucial for the development and progress of any society, and that Islamic teachings provide valuable insights into the characteristics and qualities required of leaders.

Sheikh Abdullah further emphasized that leaders must prioritize the welfare and well-being of their people, working towards the creation of a just and equitable society. He encouraged leaders to strive for excellence and to seek guidance from Islamic teachings in their decision-making processes.

In addition to the lecture, the event featured a food support program, providing food packages to thousands of attendees. This program was part of the foundation’s efforts to assist vulnerable members of the community during the Ramadan period.

The chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Pension Board, Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige, praised Engr. Sanusi Ridwan Strikah for his philanthropic efforts, noting that his foundation has positively impacted the lives of thousands. He commended Engr. Strikah’s commitment to giving back to the community and encouraged others to emulate his example.

In his welcome address, Engr. Sanusi Ridwan Strikah explained that the program was part of his foundation’s ongoing efforts to give back to the community and support indigent individuals. He assured attendees that more people in the Local Government areas would benefit from the foundation’s food support program and other initiatives.

A few months ago, Engr. Strikah Foundation organised a football competition for youths in the local government areas, aimed at discovering talents and promoting unity, teamwork, and healthy competition among young people.

The Engr. Strikah Foundation’s Annual Ramadan Lecture and Food Support programme has become a highly anticipated event in the community.
