Blue Pictures, Crimson Media thrill with Lion King and Jungle Festival

It was joy and excitement at the premiere of the Amstel Malta-sponsored Lion King and Jungle Festival as guests from within and outside Lagos State converged on the popular Palms Shopping Mall to witness one movie that dominated the entertainment scene for days.

It was in the spirit of the Disney’s original animated feature of 1994 that gave birth to the remake of the movie that hit cinemas across the country in style, topping movie charts and making history as one of the most viewed for weeks.

The film starred the voices of Donald Glover (Childish Gambino) who is popularly known for his songs, who played the lead role of Simba. It also paraded all-time people’s favourite, Beyoncé playing the role of Nala.

The inclusion aroused the interest of younger generation, who might not have had the privilege of watching the animation earlier released.

Over the weekend, at least 1,000 guests took part in the Jungle festival event that was created to bring home the importance of the story, so guests can experience in entirety the mood at the pride rock.

Speaking on what the movie would bring to the people in terms of fun and value for money and time, Managing Director, Blue Pictures Entertainment, Joy Odiete, said Disney’s Lion King and Jungle Festival was a family gathering of lovers of the animated title.

The Jungle-themed family festival treated the guests to an evening of free flow of Amstel Malta drink, face-painting session, Jenga, football, VR (Virtual Reality), bouncing castle for kids and many others.

After the indulgence at the jungle, people were ushered in to the cinema to see the “live-action” remake of the LION KING.

The event was attended by celebrities who came with their families to grace the event.

Guests also had the opportunity to interact with their favourite celebrities including Dakoren Egbuson and her family, Tobi Bakre, Ihuoma Linda Suleiman and Ibrahim Suleiman, among others.

Music at the festival was provided for by the Universal Music Group and the official Lion King; the gift album released by Beyoncé for the movie was played to reminisce with the spirit of the Pride lands.

Supported by Amstel Malta, Nokia, Universal Music, Nairabox, Trace TV, Molped Sanitary Pads and Genesis Cinemas, the movie which was packages by Blue Pictures Entertainment and Crimson Multimedia.
