POPULAR blind cleric and General Overseer of Mountain of Mercy (Ori-Oke Alaseyori), Prophet Moses Muyideen Kasali, has called on Christian leaders and clerics in general to tread softly when they treat issues that have to do with restitution of their members.
Prophet Kasali gave the charge when he spoke with newsmen during the celebration of the seventh anniversary of his church, which featured a special fasting and prayer programme scheduled to also mark his birthday.
At the event held at the church’s headquarters in Ojedeji community in Akinyele Local Government Area of Ibadan, Oyo State, he also donated a Toyota Camry car to a gospel musician, Attanda Akprede, a blind musician.
He also warned against political witch-hunting of Senate President Bukola Saraki, saying those who are trumping up charges against him may end up taking him to greater heights in Nigerian politics.
The prophet said: “There is an influential man in this country whose name is Bukola Saraki. He was Kwara State governor for eight years. After that, he became our Senate President.
“Allegations of corruption were levelled against him and many were talking about him in all the media. I said if the wind currently raging against him cannot overwhelm him, I declared that they are only publicising the man to the whole world.
“At a time, many of his loyalists deserted him. But I learnt a lesson from Saraki. When his so-called loyalists left him, he didn’t give up. He is a Muslim. He didn’t lose hope at all. He reckoned that though, he may fall, it is still possible for him to rise again.”
Lamenting that Nigeria was burdened with the wave of fake prophets, the cleric stated that “Many fake pastors have turned things up side down. We will soon hear what God has in store for them. They are the clerics who would say that it is only Christians who can rule this country better.
“God owns Nigeria. Religion doesn’t own Nigeria. God is the God of everybody. He can use anyone He pleases to rule us. What matters is that the one who He chooses makes life better for us. What is the use of a Christian leader who lacks direction?” he queried.
