Bishop Imasuen urges Christians to step up missionary activities

Published by

Bishop of Benin Diocese, Church of Nigeria, (Anglican Communion), Rt. Rev. Peter Imasuen, has called on diocesans to increase evangelistic and missionary efforts in order to takeover geographical and spiritual landscape for Jesus Christ. Bishop Imasuen stated this at a christian programme in Benin City, where he tasked Christians to confront enemies and recover kingdoms that initially belonged to church.

He said those worship centres across the country that had been turned to bar joints, brothels and business centres over the years should be reclaimed for the kingdom of Christ.

“We must note that our Christianity influence in the world will only be achieved by the judicious use of our talents, gifts and abilities to the profit or benefit of mankind.

“I want to encourage individuals, parishes, archdeaconry and indeed, the entire diocese to accelerate and gain speed in the race or journey of life.

“Indeed, as Christians, it is God’s earnest expectation for us to occupy and influence every territory we find ourselves. It is His mandate for us to prosper, increase, grow and enlarge in every endeavour of our lives.

“Age, weakness and difficulties of life are no restrictions or excuses to the execution of this mandate to occupy. Undoubtedly, life is full of contentions, strife and warfare, but with the power and grace of God upon our lives, we will prevail and overcome,’ he stated.
