The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Muhammad Zaiyan Umar, at a pre-convocation press conference with journalists on Wednesday, revealed that a total of 3,373 graduands, comprising five sets of graduates from the 2017/2018 to 2021/2022 academic years, will receive their degrees.

Professor Umar further stated that the maiden convocation holds special significance for him, as it coincides with the university’s ten years of academic activity, marking a major milestone in the institution’s history.

He also announced that the Federal University Birnin-Kebbi will confer honorary doctorate degrees on four distinguished Nigerians who have made significant contributions in their respective fields.

The honourees include the former Governor of Kebbi State, Alhaji Saidu Usman Dakingari; Alhaji Muhammadu Indimi, the founder of Oriental Energy Resources Ltd.; Mr. Leo Stan Ekeh, Chairman of Zinox Group and founder of Konga.com; and Ambassador Abubakar Sani (Makama Sokoto), all of whom have contributed tremendously to the growth and transformation of the university.

“I am pleased to announce that we will be graduating a total of 3,373 students across five sessions, all of whom have been found worthy in character and learning to receive the university’s degree certificates. The graduands will be able to collect their certificates immediately after the ceremony.”

“I also call on members of the press, as our partners, to help project and widely publicise the university’s activities to the world, so that humanity may know that Federal University Birnin-Kebbi has added 3,373 graduates who have been found worthy in both learning and character to the global workforce,” he said.
