Biometric capturing not to witch-hunt any staff ― FCTA

THE Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), on Friday, told its staff to come out en-mass and capture their biometric data for ease of personnel management, manpower development and budgeting, saying the exercise is not meant to witch-hunt any staff.

Assistant Director, FCTA department of Human Resource Management in charge of Manpower Development (MPD), Mr Rotimi Ajayi, stated this while addressing newsmen in Abuja.

He said the exercise was mandatory for all staffers to be physically present, and also take it very seriously by making available all the requirements so as to make it successful.

According to him, the exercise, which commenced last year, is expected to last beyond six months and is intended to capture such staff’s biometric data as Tax Identification Number (TIN), PENCOM Number, Bank Verification Number (BVN)/Bank Account Number and National Housing Fund Number.

“All these data are very important because they can be used for personnel planning, manpower planning and personal budgeting. We can also use it for promotion because, with just a click, we will be able to know the number of staff due for the promotion.

This is in addition to enabling the Administration to effectively place square pegs in square holes, as well as round pegs in round holes”.

He added.

Mr Ajayi further explained that the exercise would also capture other data like FCT Health Services Scheme Number, National Identity Card/Slip, as well as educational and professional credentials.

“The exercise is going to cover all cadre of staff under the FCTA, for now, FCTA staff and maybe political office holders, they will have their own platform on it too,” he stressed.
